We care about our people and our surroundings
The transition to sustainable European energy requires the support of young people, apprentices, technical and university students. For a long time, we have worked with four secondary vocational schools, where gas workers are recruited. However, we are not limiting education just to the gas industry. We are helping to develop technical fields and we have also given a helping hand to individual teachers thanks to the Elixír do škol (Potion to Schools) initiative.
We believe that diversity, equality, and inclusion are essential elements for a successful human culture. Therefore, these things are part of our ESG strategy, linked to our value of respect. We support projects that develop diversity and we are proud of the fact that we have signed the European Diversity Charter.
Safety and reliability run through our veins. Together with non-profit organisations, we are striving to create a safer world. Our flagship project is supporting volunteer firefighters, who we support not only out in the field. We have been supporting the Volunteer Firefighter of the Year Survey for over ten years now. Maintaining our gas pipelines also requires us to drive over 20 million kilometres, so we are well aware of the importance of road safety. We support the Start Driving project, which educates young drivers.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award
Educating youthWe help connect schools with the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. Together with the DofE, we help children from socially disadvantaged families, for example by providing digital equipment for online learning or mentoring.
Elixír do škol - Potion to Schools
Educating teachersWith the Elixír do škol - Potion to Schools - project, we teach educators how to teach information technology and physics in a modern way. In 2021, we helped open two new centres for digital education of teachers.
